Purpose. The aim of the article is the investigation of various approaches to the definition of the concept of “economic efficiency”, the identification of its profound content.
Methodology of research. The following methods and methodological approaches are used in the article in order to achieve this goal: induction and deduction, theoretical generalization, generalization, analysis, abstraction, dialectical method of cognition – in the research of scientific sources on the definition of the essence of the concept of “economic efficiency”; abstract and logical – for generalization of theoretical positions, formation of conclusions and proposals.
Findings. Approaches to the substantiation of the essence of the category “economic efficiency” are revealed. Various assertions of scientists regarding the above category have been analyzed and it is established that the opinions of scientists differ in relation to it, but most of them understand the category of effectiveness as the ratio of the result to the incurred costs or resources. We propose an own vision of the concept of “economic efficiency of land use” on the basis of the above analysis.
The essence of the concepts of “environmental efficiency” and “social efficiency” is defined. The existence of the relationship between economic, social and environmental efficiency has been established. An example of the connection between the main types of efficiency is presented on the basis of land resources, and it is proved that these relationships will allow the enterprise to achieve the greatest efficiency of its activity.
Originality. The study of the essence of economic efficiency of land use has been further developed, the existence and essence of the relationship between different types of efficiency has been established.
