Procedure for retracting published articles
The editorial board of the "Economic Discourse" journal is responsible for the integrity and reliability of published scientific content. In the event of discovering serious errors or violations of publication ethics, we follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Retraction Guidelines.
The journal maintains a transparent and fair policy regarding the withdrawal of manuscripts, balancing the interests of authors, reviewers, and the academic community.
ü Pre-Review Withdrawal: Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before the peer review process is completed. Requests must be submitted in writing to the editorial office, including a valid reason. Such withdrawals are generally approved without prejudice.
ü During Review: Withdrawal requests during the peer review process are considered on a case-by-case basis. Authors must provide a formal justification. The editorial board may decline withdrawal if it undermines the integrity of the review process or the efforts of assigned reviewers.
ü Post-Acceptance Withdrawal: Withdrawal after acceptance but prior to publication is allowed only under exceptional circumstances, such as critical errors or ethical concerns. Authors must submit a detailed explanation, which will be reviewed by the editorial board.
ü Ethical Oversight: Withdrawal requests are evaluated to prevent misuse, such as simultaneous submissions to other journals or attempts to manipulate publication timelines. Any unethical behavior may be reported to the authors’ institutions or relevant authorities.
ü Confirmation and Documentation: The editorial office provides written confirmation of withdrawal approval or denial. All decisions are documented to maintain transparency and accountability.
ü Impact on Future Submissions: Authors who comply with the withdrawal policy responsibly may continue submitting to the journal. Repeated or unjustified withdrawals may affect consideration of future submissions.
Through this Withdrawal Policy, The journal ensures that manuscript withdrawal is managed ethically, fairly, and transparently, preserving the integrity of the journal and the academic record.
