Academic Integrity Policy
The scientific journal Innovative Economy adheres to the principles of academic integrity as a fundamental basis of scholarly activity and the publication process.
The journal also supports the principles of open science, promoting the accessibility and verifiability of research results.
The editorial team ensures compliance with standards of scientific integrity in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), as well as the current legislation of Ukraine.
Academic integrity implies the reliability of research results, transparency of methodology, proper citation of sources, and authors’ responsibility for the content of scholarly publications.
Compliance with the principles of academic integrity is a mandatory condition for manuscript consideration.
Authors must:
ü submit exclusively original research results;
ü ensure the reliability of findings and facilitate their verification and reproducibility;
ü properly acknowledge and cite all sources used;
ü clearly define the contribution of each author;
ü avoid any forms of unethical or improper research conduct.
Violations of academic integrity include, but are not limited to:
ü plagiarism – the use of others’ texts, ideas, or results without proper attribution;
ü self-plagiarism – the reuse of previously published material without appropriate acknowledgment;
ü data fabrication – the invention of research results;
ü data falsification – the deliberate manipulation or distortion of research findings;
ü inappropriate authorship – inclusion of individuals who did not make a significant contribution or exclusion of those who did;
ü manipulation of citations, including excessive self-citation or coordinated citation practices (citation cartels).
Any such violations are considered serious breaches of publication ethics.
Authors bear full responsibility for:
ü the originality of the submitted manuscript;
ü the accuracy and integrity of research results;
ü proper use and citation of sources;
ü compliance with the principles of academic integrity.
The use of auxiliary tools, including artificial intelligence technologies, does not diminish the authors’ responsibility for the content of the manuscript. In cases where such tools are used, authors must disclose their use.
The editorial board:
ü conducts screening of manuscripts for textual overlap using specialized software tools;
ü assesses compliance with academic integrity standards;
ü reserves the right to request clarifications or additional materials from authors;
ü rejects manuscripts in cases of detected violations;
ü applies appropriate editorial procedures in cases where violations are identified after publication.
In cases of identified violations of academic integrity, the editorial board acts in accordance with COPE guidelines and may:
ü reject the manuscript;
ü suspend the review process;
ü initiate additional expert evaluation;
ü apply post-publication measures such as corrections, expressions of concern, or retraction;
ü inform relevant institutions in cases of serious misconduct.
The editorial board may restrict future submissions from authors who have violated academic integrity standards.
