Kramar S.Ya. FACTORS SHAPING THE INVESTMENT ATTRACTIVENESS OF ECOTOURISM DESTINATIONS OF UKRAINE UNDER CONDITIONS OF WAR AND MARTIAL LAW
Purpose. The aim of the study is to theoretically clarify the content, systematize the factors shaping the investment attractiveness of ecotourism destinations of Ukraine in conditions of war and martial law, as well as test the proposed systematization using the example of implemented ecotourism project initiatives.
Methodology of research. The study employs analysis and synthesis to clarify the conceptual framework; comparison and logical generalization to distinguish between investment attractiveness, tourism attractiveness, and investment potential; systematization to identify and structure the principal groups of factors; and content analysis of open-source materials combined with the case study method to examine four types of ecotourism projects implemented within protected areas in Ukraine.
Finding. An original definition of the investment attractiveness of an ecotourism destination is proposed. The factors shaping investment attractiveness are systematized into natural and environmental, security-related, financial and economic, infrastructural and technological, institutional and managerial, social and human-resource, and reputational groups. A comparative analysis of a large-scale nature conservation project, a national nature park development initiative, a specialized tourism product, and community-based mini-grant projects demonstrates that investment attractiveness is not directly determined by the amount of received funding. Rather, it depends on the coherence between natural value, security, infrastructure, legal and managerial support, the operational model, and the involvement of the local community.
Originality. The systematization of factors of investment attractiveness of ecotourism destinations has been improved by isolating security factors and treating adaptive capacity as a cross-cutting characteristic of their interaction. It has been substantiated that the decisive importance is not the maximum expressiveness of a single advantage, but the absence of critical gaps between the resource, institutional, infrastructure, security and market components of the project.
Practical value. The proposed systematization can be used as an analytical basis for preliminary diagnostics of ecotourism initiatives, identification of critical gaps, and structuring information during the preparation of investment proposals.
Key words: investment attractiveness, ecotourism, ecotourism destination, investment project, martial law, protected area, territorial community, sustainable tourism.
