Dekaliuk O.V., Fedoryshyna L.M. TIME MANAGEMENT AS A FACTOR OF INCREASING THE EFFICIENCY OF BUSINESS PROCESSES AT AN ENTERPRISE
Purpose. The aim of the article is to substantiate of the role of time management as a factor in improving the efficiency of business processes at an enterprise, systematize modern time management tools in the context of the digital transformation of the economy, and identify the specific features of their integration into the process management system.
Methodology of research. The study is based on a process-oriented approach, whereby time management is considered not as a separate tool but as an integral component of the business process management system at all levels. This approach made it possible to develop a model for integrating time management tools into the business process management system, based on four interrelated components: strategic, organizational and planning, coordination and control, and analytical and forecasting. The following methods were also employed to achieve the stated objective: the analytical and monographic methods were used to examine contemporary approaches to interpreting the essence of time management, determine its role in the enterprise management system, and investigate the contributions of various scholars to the development of this field; the systematization method was applied to group modern time management tools according to the areas of their impact on business process efficiency; the classification method was used to differentiate the application of time management tools depending on the functional purpose of a particular business process (core, managerial, support, and analytical).
Findings. The role of time management as one of the key factors in improving the efficiency of business processes of a modern enterprise in the context of the digital transformation of the economy has been investigated. It has been substantiated that effective management of time resources is an important component of the enterprise management system, ensuring the optimization of business process execution, increased labour productivity, reduced unproductive time expenditures, and improved the quality of managerial decision-making. It has been demonstrated that the integration of time management tools into process-oriented management contributes to improving the efficiency of operational, managerial, and support business processes by optimizing the planning, coordination, control, and monitoring of work performance.
Particular attention is paid to modern digital time management technologies, the use of information platforms, the automation of planning processes, as well as the application of artificial intelligence tools for forecasting time-related risks and supporting managerial decision-making. An author’s approach to integrating time management tools into the enterprise’s business process management system is proposed, which provides for their application in accordance with the functional purpose of individual business processes. The expected organizational and economic outcomes (effects) of implementing time management tools into the enterprise’s business process management system are substantiated.
Originality. The substantiation of the role of time management in improving enterprise performance has been further developed. In particular, the author’s model for integrating time management tools into the enterprise’s business process management system has been developed. Unlike existing approaches, the proposed model is based on the process-oriented management principle and provides for the coordinated use of strategic, organizational and planning, coordination and control, and analytical and forecasting components. The proposed model ensures the comprehensive application of time management tools according to the functional purpose of business processes and contributes to improving the efficiency of the enterprise’s operational activities.
Practical value. The obtained findings can be used by enterprises across various sectors of the economy to improve the efficiency of time resource utilization, enhance business processes, and ensure competitiveness in the context of the digital economy.
Key words: time management, business processes, enterprise efficiency, enterprise management, digital transformation, managerial decision-making, labour productivity, time expenditure, time as a resource.
