Purpose. The aim of the article is to assess the current state of the gender equality management process in the municipal enterprise “Khmelnytskyi City Children's Hospital” of the Khmelnytskyi City Council and outline directions for its improvement.
Methodology of research. The following general and special research methods were used to achieve the set goal, in particular: analysis and synthesis, monographic, abstract and logical, systematization ‒ for processing scientific publications, regulatory legal acts regarding ensuring gender equality in society and healthcare institutions, in particular, the formation of proposals for improving the gender equality management process in the conditions of a specific institution; sociological method (survey) ‒ for conducting a questionnaire survey of personnel regarding ensuring gender equality in the institution; tabular ‒ for a visual presentation of data regarding the personnel structure and survey results.
Findings. A diagnosis of the process of ensuring gender equality by surveying the personnel of the municipal enterprise “Khmelnytskyi City Children's Hospital” of the Khmelnytskyi City Council was carried out. A number of recommendations have been formulated to improve the process of managing gender equality, in particular: development and adoption of the Regulation on ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, appointment of an authorized person (coordinator) on these issues, introduction of gender-sensitive procedures for selection, promotion, evaluation and motivation of personnel; support for the professional development of women and the formation of female leadership; consideration of a gender approach in strategic planning and budgeting.
Originality. The study of the process of ensuring gender equality and its management in a healthcare institution by conducting a questionnaire and propose, based on the obtained results and a detailed analysis, a number of recommendations aimed at integrating a gender approach into the existing management system have received further development.
Practical value. The obtained results of the study can be directly used in the activities of the ME “Khmelnytskyi City Children's Hospital” of the Khmelnytskyi City Council to increase the efficiency of personnel management, reduce the risks of discrimination and more rational use of labour and financial resources. Individual proposed measures can be adapted and used by other healthcare institutions, local governments and specialized departments when developing industry development strategies taking into account the gender dimension.
