Methodology of research. The following methods and techniques are used in the article in order to achieve this goal: monographic; statistical groupings and graphic for a comprehensive study of the current state of beef production, pork and poultry meat; grouping – to determine the impact of the density of livestock and poultry on the level of production and consumption of meat; comparison – a comparative analysis of meat production in different time periods, to identify causal relationships.

Findings. The analysis of meat production trends in Ukraine for the period of 2010-2016 has been carried out, which revealed that in recent years there has been an increase in the production of pig meat and poultry with a significant reduction in beef, which indicates negative changes in the structure of production, sales and consumption meat and confirms that the situation with meat production remains critical. However, it has been found that there is a lack of agricultural land market in order to achieve effective changes in the barrier, as large-scale land plots are needed for the development of efficient meat sectors.

Originality. It is substantiated for commodity producers engaged in meat production, the rational specialization of meat industries, breed stock of livestock and poultry, taking into account market infrastructure, the location of the economy in relation to feed and processing enterprises with an orientation on the potential of its own forage base, which will enable the transfer of m clear livestock, pig farming, poultry farming on an industrial basis and maximize the potential for intensifying production and efficiently produce beef, pork and poultry in specialized farms.
