Abstract

Purpose. The aim of the article is to substantiate the directions of strengthening the motivational function of remuneration and its impact on the economy, including on regional economic development.
Methodology of research. The following research methods were used to realize the set goal in the research process: critical analysis (when identifying the essential features of remuneration and motivation); statistical (to identify the conditions and reasons for the need to strengthen the motivational function, taking into account regional specifics); generalization (in the process of developing and substantiating proposals for improving the motivational function).
Findings. The peculiarities, conditions and needs for improving the motivational function of remuneration in general and taking into account regional specifics are analysed. It is proved on the basis of the analysis of statistical indicators that in modern conditions the main feature of the motivational function of remuneration, especially noticeable in the regional section, is the decrease of its role. The position is substantiated that for the purposes of ensuring the growth of motivation, it is advisable to set the minimum wage at a level that corresponds to the cost of labor of an unskilled worker, to take into account the differences in the amount of wages that exist in the regional section in order to smooth them out, to apply a system of employee insurance in case of risk situations through the war
Originality. On the basis of a critical analysis of the existing author's positions and statistical data, the role and directions of improving the motivational function of labour remuneration in the conditions of war, the application of the employee insurance system in the event of risk situations arising due to military operations are substantiated.
Practical value. The implementation of the proposed innovations in terms of strengthening the motivational function of remuneration, its equalization taking into account regional indicators and the use of internal additional stabilizing and encouraging levers will contribute to the strengthening of the motivational function of remuneration and the activation of its social and economic purpose.
