Mishchuk N.V. EDUCATION AS A FACTOR IN THE COMPETITIVENESS OF YOUTH IN THE LABOUR MARKET

Purpose. The aim of the article is to study the education as one of the factors of youth competitiveness on the labour market of Ukraine.

Methodology of research. General scientific methods are used in the process of research, in particular: generalization methods – to study the theoretical foundations and existing concepts regarding the interpretation of the essence of the concepts of “education”, “educational potential of youth”, “competitive potential of youth”, “quality of education”; systematic approach – to substantiate the influence of the state of development of the education system on the formation of the competitiveness of the population; methods of analysis and synthesis – to identify the indicators of educational potential of the young person, which contribute to increasing its competitiveness in the labour market; special methods of economic and statistical research – to determine the dynamics of indicators of economic activity of the population of Ukraine by the level of education.

Findings. The place and role of education in the formation of the labor potential of a young person is substantiated. Education as one of the factors of youth competitiveness on the Ukrainian labour market is characterized. The dynamics of indicators is determined: the level of economic activity, the level of employment and the unemployment rate of the population of Ukraine, depending on the level of education. A set of factors that determine the effectiveness of the formation of educational and labour potential of young people is formed. The elements of the educational and professional component of the competency of a specialist in the labour market are determined. The characteristics that reveal the essence of the concept of “quality of education” are given. The influence of the education system on the formation of the competitiveness of the population is substantiated.

Originality. The author's interpretation of the concepts of “Competitive potential of youth” and “Educational potential of youth” is proposed.

Practical value. The obtained results of the research will be useful to researchers who are studying the problems of development of the educational sphere and may also be the basis for improving the mechanism of regulation of education development in the system of youth competitiveness on the Ukrainian labour market.
