Purpose. The aim of the article is to develop the theoretical and methodological bases of research of innovative transformations and develop the scientific and practical recommendations of formation of the economic mechanism of innovative development of agro-industrial enterprises.

Methodology of research. In the process of research general scientific and special methods were used, in particular: dialectical, monographic and system analysis – to research the modern tendencies of innovative development, strategic development of enterprises; abstract and logical, graphic – in the formation of theoretical and methodological foundations of innovative development of enterprises.

Findings. The need to improve the organizational and economic mechanism of management and dispatchers is revealed through the radical influence of factors that business considers decisive for the formation of changes in the agro-industrial complex by increasing the readiness for innovative development. Scientific approaches are revealed and the readiness of enterprises for changes in the market due to the influence of innovations is determined.

An assessment was made of the current level of dissipation and propensity to dissipate in the future, taking into account the index of innovation of enterprises. The organizational and economic mechanism of management of innovative development of agro-industrial enterprises as a complex of connected depending on the nature of the impact on existing products and markets and the action of components of the internal and external environment in the context of digitalization.

Scientific novelty. The strategic directions and ways to improve the organizational and economic mechanism in the practice of agro-industrial enterprises in implementing changes in the direction of internal management were generalized.

Also, the application of effective methods of resource management, systems of organization of production and management, intensification of investment and innovation activities were generalized.

Practical value. The obtained results of the study can be used to identify potential opportunities for innovation and will assess enterprises both at the current level of disability and propensity to disrupt in the future, taking into account the index of innovation of enterprises.
